From a socialist point of view

"the private and individual is altogether banished from life and things which are by nature private, such as eyes and ears and hands, have become common, and in some way see and hear and act in common, and all men express praise and fell joy and sorrow on the same occasions"                                                                                                                               - Plato, The Republic That was the seed which grew into a big tree which considered as the ancestor of Communism or socialism (of course there is difference in Communism and socialism) or simply, you could say a classless society, where people share all their property. Definitely today, it is an outdated concept in the mind of so called forward looking, advanced, and modern people. The problem now a days with people is they just gave up on thinking process, they would like someone else to do the job for them and they will follow. Everything now a days are self-centric. Mai

Redrawing The Poverty Line

And this century's funniest joke is made by, any guesses, Planning Commission, India. As you know even if we are a fast developing economy, more than half population is below poverty line (BPL). And guess what, Planning Commission had come up with a fantastic way to get around poverty problem, they lowered this line as low making sure that no one would be behind this line.             Recently, prices of everything from vegetables to food grains to fuel has shot up like a rocket. If you are an Indian you would definitely share my feeling. Fuel is an exception, whose price rise every 4 month  has become a ritual in India.              Neglecting all these facts, Planning Commission in its affidavit to Supreme Court has claimed that those spending more than Rs 965 per month in urban India and Rs 781 in rural India will not be considered poor. In their claim Rs.32/day  in urban India and Rs.26/day in rural areas is more than enough to consider those common man

Indian Army's dwindling image

Is Indian Army starting to loose its long claimed good-naturedness. Now a days the news report says it is. Its not the first time a woman cadet is committing suicide (or looks like it), for some unknown reasons. Every time anyone seemed to raise the voice, he/she is subjected to court martial for occluding the discipline of army. The latest to hit the news is the suicide of sacked IAF officer Anjali Gupta. The point is why she chose to die now after all this years. She was doing a private job in Bangalore, was with her family; nobody can find a problem with her. And one more thing is that she too raised her voice against an army superiors for trying to sexually harass her. We didn't forget about Captain Megha Razdan's siuicide and Lt Sushmita Chakraborty's suicide. For spicing up the shame we have, Lt Gen A K Nanda, the Engineer-in-Chief who molested the wife of a Col. rank who was his technical secretary during a visit to Israel. Like all Indian citizen i too think

Philosophy of Life

One fine morning it was; but unfortunately, it seemed to me like the same old,  endless marching of recurring events. But every one seems to be enjoying or so it appeared. Some say they enjoy busy life and calmness scare them, i don't know and  i possibly can't. Just imagine a situation, god appears and is offering a boon, what would you ask for? i would say, i wish  whether this world become so slow that we don't miss a moment. But, hey, i am just being rude and narrow-minded as there are lots of other people for whom life is a living hell. For them living every moment like the same way would be devastating. Every morning i getup wishing what if the world is like a book, very well organised and like 'The Dorian Grey' of  William Wordsworth. To me death is very saddening in the sense that if any person enter into that particular realm, you are lost. You are no more a player, here in the drama called life, on earth, in fact you get promoted to play a role in much

Start to think green

This topic has been boiling in my mind for a while. Its only now i have been able to put it out here. Climate change has been  named a real danger for past 200 - 300 years. Our increasing use of coal and petroleum products had already unbalanced the nature's balance of CO2, CH4(methane) and other green house gases. Although i am not a firm believer of," we humans caused the temperature fluctuations in the global  atmospheric system". But i admit the fact that we liberally donated to that already fluctuating system. Data from Antarctic ice cores reveals that from 600 to 1000 years temperature had been changing.
