BOOKS

Like everyone else, my morning also starts with the same set of chores. Still, the rising sun has this refreshing effect on my mind, like every new day I m being reborn with new set of hopes. The joy it gives me, devouring a cup of tea with the rays from morning sun along with the chirping birds is heavenly. Sometimes it feels like never to move from the balcony and go on forever eternally, looking at the rising sun and the shades of sky. When I was in school my parents used to say, If u study properly now, u can have a good future . When I joined college the same advise applied to college, then after that when I got a job the same applied but with a little editing that, work good so that u can have a good retired life . I wonder, worrying too much for the future, are we forgetting to live the moment? I know they have their own justifications for that, but still what if I am not like that. What if I would like to sit lazy for days doing nothing, what if i want to live a simple life l

Micro Story - Freedom

What is freedom? She asked me. Her little shiny eyes were filled with curiosity. She is just 8 yrs old. I was searching for exact words to explain. What is freedom? Is it the rights we gain? You hear this nonsense?, he asked his wife in a quizzical manner. She jerked her head sideways with disappointment and pity, these bigots can't take criticism. Suddenly Vijay yelled at Lakshmi, " say sorry to my batman or else    you and your doraemon are gonna regret ". He was grinding his teeth, Lakshmi started sobbing. ' VIJAY ' both his parents screamed, " this is how you treat your sister   ?" He was on the verge of tears. He shouted at them " She started this, she insulted my

I named u 'MAMA'

courtesy: blog.dictionary.com Most common syllable the entire world utters when they take their first breath is [ma]. Philosophical implications of sound are immense. And the real wonder is that, most of the world's recognised languages has 'ma' sound in them, whether it is Mama, Mummy, Ma, Amma or Mom. Is it bcoz of that 'aa' is one of the easiest sound to produce? What ever may the reason be, it is the sound our entire species is familiar with. There are a lot of emotions entangled with this sound. May be that's why we think there would be a  divine intervention in the bonding between mother and child, as the child seems to utter the word even before it could think and reason with the outside world. In Indian culture sound 'Ma' and 'Amma' conveys  lots of emotions, whether it be respect, love or kindness. One will find loads of stories about motherly love and sacrifice in our culture, and any culture for that matter. Its " matha( mot
