Valentine's Day - Redefined

Happy valentine's day. Today when i woke up,and went through the Newspaper, then only it occurred to me that it is "Feb-14". Outside, young couples were already in the swing. But i failed to notice any special depiction of love at this particular day, in nature. May be nature doesn't care much about our feelings. If she(nature) asked me, i would have definitely given her some tips for making the day romantic, like blooming trees, flowering plants, snowing etc. May be she too think like my mother, that love is a waste of valuable time and only fools fell in love.
People say there are moral police on patrol, deputed by some extreme "Hindu-vadis". i thought may they don't have anyone to love them, that's why they are acting like this.
Moral police "go down", you can't feel or ever understand what does the beating heart of a lover say, or propagate or bellowing to the world ?.
When i looked out to the world all those people living by the side of roads and under the bridges, they were all there with the same vacant expression on their face. It felt like i should shout at them that today is a special day, enjoy every one.
Then i went to park and there view was splendid, girls were looking more radiant than ever. Boys were competing to get noticed by them. Then a beggar with hands folded approaches one of those beautiful couples who were in the park. Beggar was at once kicked off form that scene of perfect love or perfect happiness, one could say.
Love is universal. Whether you love someone special to your heart or love your parents or love the entire humanity, what matters is, how much can you love?. Are you a gentle lover(of those who are trodden and even enemies) like Jesus Christ or Gandhiji or some one like Mother Teresa. Or are you a passionate lover of trodden mankind like "Che" who would go any length and try anything?. Now a days the entire depth of love just contained into love between two people. That is not the real meaning of love it is only a part of it's meaning. Real love is vast as ocean. Why are we celebrating St. valentines day b'coz he did a heroic act of performing marriage ceremonies for young men, at the time of Roman Emperor Claudius II.He got death penalty for that. So let's celebrate Valentines day,but for the real reason.

For this was on seynt Volantynys day

Whan euery bryd comyth there to chese his make.

["For this was Saint Valentine's Day, when every bird cometh there to choose his mate."]

The bloodsucking Yakshi

When I was a kid, April and May fell in the list of my favourite months. Not because it's going to rain and there would be mud all around, but those are the months my cousins would be here at our family house, in our hometown in Kerala. Those are the memories I would cherish forever. My grand-mother has 5 offsprings, 4 boys and a girl. My father is the second eldest of five. Then, he was the only one staying in Kerala and everyone else was in different parts of India, a Pan-India Family one could say. We were all present, it's like Parliament, shouting, laughing, scolding children, people everywhere, busy doing their chores. An outsider entering the home can still go unnoticed. Life was less complicated then. We were just ........just ourselves. Everyone you valued dearly is with you. It's like, the world has shrunken to a square block of bricks and mortar. Now it's all feel like a fairy-tale, one of the best things about joint-family. We are all tired of day's...

Youth and Politics

Our political system is crippling and burdened with over aged hypocrites. I honestly believe our politics  need a revamp. Don’t you think present is ruled and governed by the ghosts of past. There is big difference in past and present  social values.  Don’t get me wrong, when i colloquially put it as older people coz you might think i am some kind of Nazi. When i say older, i meant our over-the-hill politicians, you can say they have experience and all, but right now what we need most is not experienced minds but bold minds who can accept the change happening around and those who are willing to break free from the old traditional format. The average age of our Parliament is over 60 years. How many leaders are there in our parliament who are not from a well-off and don’t have a criminal background. Most of our politicians and executives for that matter are sycophants. Being rhetoric and sycophancy are the trademarks of most of our statesmen. This sycophantic behaviour de...

From a socialist point of view

"the private and individual is altogether banished from life and things which are by nature private, such as eyes and ears and hands, have become common, and in some way see and hear and act in common, and all men express praise and fell joy and sorrow on the same occasions"                                                                                                                               - Plato, The Republic That was the seed which grew into a big tree which considered as the ancestor of Communism or socialism (of course there is difference in Communism and socialism) or simply, you could say a classless society, where people share all their property. ...
