I am the One

It is my entry to the contest " Sets You On Fire! ". Here i would like to share some moments which happened almost a year back in my life which literally set me on fire, physically and morally. May be to most of you it isn't a big deal but for me it is. If you are a person who believes in principles and morals then you would understand this situation.                It was getting darker and chilling cold was creeping inside through my sweaters,i ran hurriedly to the bus stop. i have to catch the bus as the frequency of bus service to my place is not that appreciative. Luckily bus got stuck in traffic light, i can see it from the bus stop. Bus halted, i got in, along with other passengers. The bus was unusually empty.i thanked Mr.. God, since one can't possibly experience such a luxury in a city like Delhi. Here serenity and placidity are a luxury. The bus conductor was a guy in his 30s. He seemed to be a multitasking guy, he was giving ticket and at t

Government vs People

I think our government has a different idea of democracy, in simple sense it is "majority rule" but in India, it is the other way around, the majority is being manipulated by a few political and business barons. Even common people are showing the tinge of this greediness for power and money. In our economy 50% (majority) of people are below poverty line and other 25-35% are middle class (upper and lower) and the rest includes this  millionaires, billionaires and political barons. And this les than 25% has a significant influence in almost everything that's going on in our country, they control "News", "Media" and even influence "bills" presented before Parliament. Government and it's sermonizers till day were successful in making people believe Business and Industries are the only hope left,  anything that will animate business would be a boost to our country economically for that they start to present people with statistics,” game of num

Why we must save animals?

I had been thinking over this issue for quite some time now. i couldn't  reach in a position where i could recommend that this and this are true and such and such are false. It seems very much intertwined, humans, animals, their rights everything. It is true that we are very much wretched in our attitudes towards our fellow beings, whether it is other species or our own species. It is deep inside us, it is our primatial genealogy that makes us addicted to power and control. But in our case, as we are special in lots of ways like self awareness, thinking, language etc.we cannot afford to succumb to our instincts. We created  restrictions in our society, set moral standards, defined right and wrongs. We are very much ahead of our fellow primates in evolution. We understood our position in this nature, what are we (at least partially),how we understood nature and even evolution process and thus we became  the enlightened ones. With this came responsibility, only because we are be

Truths Kolkata-fire revealed

December 9 was a bad day for India especially Kolkata, one of India's first cosmopolitan city. A torrid fire outbreak consumed almost 89-90 lives in AMRI hospital, in South Kolkata. The cause of fire was found to be from the basement where highly inflammable substances were stored. AMRI, one of highly reputed hospitals in India didn't have enough fire safety measures, was a terrible revelation to the country. There were no harmonisation between fire fighting and security features. Not only that fire department officials were informed tardily and those were present there said, senior hospital members fled at the time of fire, very much for  evacuation strategy. People said all the windows and doors were closed shut, due to which they couldn't escape. Some of the nurses and those living in slum near the hospital did the primary rescue work till the arrival of firefighters. Two brave-heart female nurses lost their lives in rescuing patients, both of them were in their early

Goliath vs David

What i had written under may not be factual or reasonable to others. This is just blurting out of my 5 second thought which came to me as a flash, that is why i have written it in one single para. So please don't get angry with this non-sense. Humans are special, our intense desire to out live time made us innovative, creative, imaginative more over successful, in a sense. From the very beginning we tried to contain the time, the result was inevitable, time just moves forward. We just couldn't comprehend the fact that we would cease to exist after a particular time frame. It could have been at this moment of revelation that we, humans decided to tame the Goliath named 'Time' . Time always caught our fascination, it tricked us to beat it on the race. We painfully understood that physically (in material world) we cannot beat time . At last we, who are gifted with the special senses of self awareness, our own strange ideas of right and wrong , much more weirder

Why this KOLAVERI people, Why?

So much fuss over a song, i still don't get it, where is the problem? if you like it enjoy else ditch it. Yes i am talking about the love/sad song 'why this kolaveri di' (why this killing rage, oh girl) which has become the new mantra of youth in India. It also introduced a kind of chaotic type of lyrics which has both Tamil and English language. Traditional music lovers says it lacks beauty, elegance and emotion. But how could they say that, on what basis? Are they implying that all these people who enjoyed this song are all dumb-ass? There could be possibility, if it was something related to our reasoning and intelligence, but its music to enjoy it all you need is a heart. Yes, the song has kind of mixed emotions and crude lyrics, but even crudeness have beauty. Will you say hard rock is ugly because of its sound burst, no b'coz it has its own beauty likewise what about folk songs, they are also crude.  Music has healing, soothing and solacing power. Ou
